At some point in your career, all ADF members will transition from full-time military service. It is a significant decision that will also involve your family. Planning early will make sure you're informed and ready to enter the next phase of your life.
Due to COVID-19 Transition Coaching & Support are now offering the ADF Member and Family Transition Seminar virtually.
The ADF Member and Family Virtual Transition Seminar can help you gain access to information that will assist with your transition, all via an online platform. You will receive information on topics like:
  • Transition Coaching & Support Services
  • Total Workforce System and Reserves
  • Department of Veterans' Affairs
  • Future Employment or Retirement
  • Finance and Superannuation
  • The Healthcare System
YES! You must still engage with an ADF Transition Coach through your local ADF Transition Centre to complete your mandatory transition process. Contact details for your local Transition Centre can be found below.
You will be able to access the ADF Member and Family Virtual Transition Seminar at anytime from anywhere in the world. It is recommended that you attend a Live Day to get the most out of the virtual seminar, including the ability to interact with stallholders and presenters in a real time environment.
Current serving ADF members - Must register on CAMPUS by searching:
Course ID ‘15234’ or ‘Virtual Transition’ It is essential that ADF members register on CAMPUS and seek supervisor approval to attend, as well as receive further information to help you register. Registering via CAMPUS will ensure that your attendance will be recorded against your PMKeyS profile and granted leave from the workplace to take part in the Live Day.

Family members and support people
We recommend that a family member or support person also attend the ADF Member and Family Virtual Transition Seminar as they may be involved in your transition. Family members or support people wishing to attend can register by clicking the ‘Register Now’ button at the top of this page.

No, the ADF Member and Family Virtual Transition Seminar is free of charge, and open to all ADF members, their families and guests.
Personal information collected at registration will only be used as login credentials to allow access to the ADF Member and Family Virtual Transition Seminar. Any data provided by participants when linking outside of the seminar, is subject to the pre-existing and approved terms of use and privacy principles currently in effect on those platforms. You have the right to request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. To do this, you need to send a written request to the ADF Transition Seminar Team at: Transition.seminar@defence.gov.au.
Once you have clicked on a booth you will be able to chat 1-on-1 with stallholder representatives by clicking the ‘Chat now’ button. You will be assigned a chat partner from the respective organisation who can answer your questions. The information provided on this platform will be generic. If you require personalised information you will be provided with contact details to have 1-on-1 conversations outside the virtual seminar platform.
There is question time allocated at the end of each presentation. To avoid distraction we request that questions are not asked until the presentation has finished. You can ask questions by clicking the ‘chat now’ button. The information provided on this platform will be generic. At each booth you can see general information about the stallholder, watch videos and download resources. Personal information or circumstances should not be discussed within the virtual seminar platform. The Defence Member and Family Helpline is your first point of call for support, information and connection with your community, including your local DMFS team. The Helpline is available 24-7 and is staffed by qualified human services professionals including social workers and psychologists. All you will need is an internet connection and a working internet browser. ADF members and staff are encouraged to use a personal device to access the virtual seminar off Defence networks (DRN/DPN). While this is a Defence approved platform, some of its functionality, such as video playback, is unavailable through Defence protected networks. It is for this reason that we advise all attendees to use their own personal device for optimal functionality.
You can access the virtual seminar via computer, tablet or smartphone. ADF members and staff will need to use a personal device to access the virtual seminar off the Defence networks (DRN/DPN)
